About Us
What We Do - food at a click©
Fancy a take away? Want to order food and drink online? Craving for a curry? Save time ....save money...order online....
Napkin.com is a takeaway portal through which food and drink can be easily accessed and ordered to support our busy lifestyles. We aim to provide convenience, culinary flair and customer satisfaction by providing access to the widest range of eating establishments at every level of the market from sandwich stores to Michelin starred restaurants. If you want to find something to eat or drink.......think Napkin.
We need your help to turn the Google map of the UK red!!!.....we probably have your favourite takeaway menu stored and ready to use. Let us know the name of your favourite restaurant and we'll sign them up. 2009 is going to be a grey year for many restaurants....let's cheer them up by turning their pin red and helping them sell more by making their menu available online.
Our intention is to extend the traditional concept of the takeaway to permit even fine dining restaurants to offer suitable dishes to the market. Why shouldn’t it be possible to have a top chef prepare a fabulous dessert for a private dinner party or special celebration? Wouldn’t it be nice if that great restaurant wine list were a little more accessible when the off-licence was closed. You can even hire the conveyor belts used by Yo Sushi through us to help whisk the food around a large area or a marquee for a private party.!
Napkin intends to develop as determined by you, the users, and provide the fullest possible food and drink portal for all communities.
Our Philosophy
Napkin is passionate about eating and drinking, how these activities affect our lives and the diversity and social inclusion that they offer.
Enjoyment of food and drink is a privilege we all have and Napkin hopes to help us celebrate the joy of eating and drinking wherever possible.
In a world where a third of mankind lives on less than a dollar a day and doesn’t have access to clean water it is especially important that we do not take for granted the abundance and diversity that we have around us. Many of our client restaurant staff will have had direct experience of a very different lifestyle to the one we know. The potential impact of global climate change may also exacerbate some of the current disparities and inequalities and we hope that Napkin will develop as a leading advocate for Fair Trade and the sensible exploitation of the Earth’s resources.
We hope this site can be used to debate the important issues of the day when it comes to food and water. Napkin is also proud to support the Change4Life initiative and its dictum....Eat well....Move More....Live Longer. Many of our restaurants are rightly proud of the pure, organic, colouring free products that they produce and we will do everything we can to help the market move in this direction. (www.change4life.com)
We are also lucky to have had an important contribution to our design from a leading young fashion photographer Kate Bellm. Kate has very kindly worked with us out of her core area to demonstrate her prowess with the lens...check out her work on www.katebellm.com.
Our Approach
Napkin wants to hear your views as to how this site can develop and offer services that matter to you and your family. Given the importance of the food agenda whether pertaining to GM crops, vegetarianism, organic food or healthy diets we hope you will share your views with us and help us shape our service offer over the coming years.
As we are successful commercially we also hope to support some of those less fortunate than ourselves in terms of food and water consumption by sponsoring relevant third world projects wherever possible.
Via our blog we also hope to have a bit of fun and conduct some important soundings and surveys to find, for example, the norms for alcohol consumption and the weight of the nation. (The UK is often accused of being "the fat man" of Europe – let’s find out via our World Wide Weight © blog that we will be posting shortly)
